What started in 2016 as an initiative to accelerate the technology in Rajasthan has now become one of the biggest technological fests in the world. We’re talking about the Rajasthan Digifest.

The first edition of Green-a-Thon was organised during the Rajasthan Digifest & IT Day in Jaipur.  The event was a huge success — it witnessed 800 participants and helped develop sustainable solutions to make cities in the state smart and green. The winners were given a cumulative prize of INR 32.5 ($47.5K) Lakh and also got a chance to collaborate with the Rajasthan government and their projects are being implemented by the government to build a better tomorrow.

The Rajasthan Digifest is back with a bang and will be hosted in the historic city of Bikaner on July 25 and 26.

Among other activities that promise to make fest a joyride for attendees, one of the key highlights of the Digifest is Green-a-Thon, which is aimed at making the world not just technologically advanced but sustainable as well.

The Government of Rajasthan believes that technology has the potential to solve some of the biggest environmental challenges in the world. Thus, to promote the use of cutting-edge technology in building a better tomorrow, the Department of IT&C (DoITC) is organising the second edition of Green-a-Thon during the upcoming Rajasthan DigiFest Bikaner.

The idea behind Green-a-Thon is to encourage young problems-solvers and innovative think tanks to create and implement new ideas for a more sustainable future. It will be a 24-hour competition aimed at bringing forth green ideas to make the world more sustainable. Participants will be offered a platform to showcase their ingenious ideas related to sustainable energy as well as environmental issues.

Why Should You Participate In Green-a-Thon?

Green-a-thon aims to provide a collaborative yet competitive environment for participants to create a greener and sustainable society.

DoIT&C has added a lot more themes to the competition as compared to its last edition, making it all the more attractive for participants. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Thrilling awards and prizes for the participants
  • The three best solutions-providing teams will be given an opportunity to work with the DoIT&C and bag government projects worth INR 32.5 Lakh ($47.5K).

After the Green-a-thon competition, the top three winners will enter into a contract with DoIT&C. They will work along with experts on the prototype of their idea and ensure its effective implementation in the state.

Not just the top three winners, but various other participants will also be given a chance to collaborate with the department and implement their green ideas and products in the state.
