Pync’s closure comes amid raging competition in the segment, which is primarily led by listed consumer services company Urban Company, Snabbit, and Info Edge-backed Pronto

Amid intensifying competition in the quick home services segment, Accel-backed startup Pync has shut operations.

Pync’s three cofounders – Harsh Prateek, Mayank Sahu and Dev Priyam – have now joined rival Snabbit in senior roles across operations and business functions, the latter said in a statement.

“I’m excited to welcome Harsh, Mayank, and Dev to Snabbit as we join forces to build the category of the decade. Their experience in running a lean, tight ship and their deep obsession with this category will add immense strength to our journey,” Snabbit founder Aayush Agarwal said.

Snabbit also plans to hire 20+ team members of Pync as it looks to scale its operations.

The development was first reported by ET.

Founded in 2023, Pync initially offered car-cleaning subscriptions. The startup later pivoted to quick house services and raised about $2 Mn in seed funding last year. It operated only in Bengaluru and served over 25,000 households with 1,000+ service professionals. It was onboarding around 200 new service partners each week while operating independently.

Pync’s closure comes amid raging competition in the segment, which is primarily led by listed consumer services company Urban Company, Snabbit, and Info Edge-backed Pronto.

Monthly burn rates have soared as startups are juggling aggressive expansion, deep discounts, seasonal worker migration, and compliance with labour laws. This has squeezed margins across the board as players prioritise market share over immediate profitability.

Pync’s move to shut operations suggests an early sign of consolidation in the fast-growing segment. The quick home services segment mirrors quick commerce economics – high fixed costs, low marginal delivery costs and growth-at-all-costs mindset – creating natural consolidation pressure.

Pync’s workforce is expected to give Snabbit immediate operational edge in Bengaluru. The startup was on a fundraising spree last year. In October, it bagged $30 Mn in its Series C round led by Bertelsmann India Investments. It was its third funding round of 2025, having raised over $24 Mn in two previous rounds.

Founded in 2024 by ex-Zepto chief of staff Agarwal, Snabbit offers trained and verified domestic help, including cleaners, cooks, and dishwashers, within 10-15 minutes.

Snabbit’s rival Pronto also raised $13 Mn in 2025 and is said to be in talks to raise another $25 Mn.
