Avaamo has announced the launch of  “Avaamo for Apple Watch”— a business messaging app developed specifically from the ground up for the Apple Watch. The app has been approved by Apple and will be available for download from the App Store starting April 24, 2015.

The newly launched app for the Apple watch will allow users to simply speak into the watch and reply instantly via a text.

The app offers you smart emoji choices tailored to your conversation either from Apple’s incredibly cool animated emojis or Avaamo’s business emojis to reply immediately.

Besides, you can also tap your Files, pictures, locations and videos on the watch and view it on the phone. You can also choose conversations you want to track, and the app will show them in your Apple Watch Glance.

Speaking on the launch, Ram Menon, CEO and co-founder of Avaamo said, “Working closely with Apple helped us define the interaction model for secure messaging experience on the Apple Watch.”

Avaamo, is a mobile messaging startup founded by two former TIBCO execs Ram Menon and Sriram Chakravarthy in 2014. The Avaamo App allows you to have secure conversations with your co-workers as well as customers, partners and vendors outside your company.

The startup has presence in Los Altos, California and Bangalore, India and is backed by investors from Silicon Valley, China and Japan. Earlier in October last year, the startup had raised $6.3 Mn in seed funding from WI Harper Group, Rembrandt Venture Partners and other investors.

Apple Watch is expected to be available in India later this year. As per the market reports, Apple will launch three variants (Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition) and two sizes (38 mm and 42 mm), the Apple Watch will be priced between $349 (over INR 21,800) to a whopping $17K (INR 10.66 lakh) for the gold model.

The smartwatch would require iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.2 or higher versions. Apple Watch is expected to deliver up to 18-hour battery life and has digital face that can look like a traditional time piece. According to the company, users will be able to make and receive calls, read e-mails, control music, manage Instagram photos and keep track of fitness using the smartwatch.
