PriceBaba, a local product search engine, has announced its launch in 4 new cities namely: Chennai, Hyderabad, Baroda and Surat, taking the total number of cities it is operational in to 11. PriceBaba has also introduced online price comparison alongside local prices on its platform.
Serving around 3.5 Mn users per month, more than 1500 shops have been listed on the site across the 11 cities which it operates in. Pricebaba’s growth has increased by 35 times in the last 15 months.
Annkur P Agarwal, Co-founder of PriceBaba.com stated, “In 2014 we sent inquiries worth over INR 230 crores to local retailer in our network. We continue to invest in growing our local retail network in 2015. Apart from Mumbai we now also have on-ground presence in Bangalore and Delhi.”
Price comparison feature will prove out to be helpful for the customers as well as for traders as it will help them in maintaining a healthy competition. It is contemplated that it will cover the 10 most trusted online retailers by February 2015.
He also said, “Our loyalty as PriceBaba is to the end user. We believe that different forms of retail would exist, ranging across single store owners, organized chain retailers and online players. As PriceBaba, we are neutral towards the retail channel and want to empower the user to make the best shopping decision. An inherent part of this is to ensure that any shopping destination we bring onboard is trustable.”
PriceBaba is an online platform founded by Ankur P Agarwal and Tirthesh Ganatra in 2012 and funded by 500 Startups, and few other investors. With its help, the customers can get in touch with the various local and online retailers and select their desired smartphone to the best of their benefit. Besides price comparison, it also displays different prices by different retailers, both local and online, thus giving a clear picture to the customers.
