Taking a step forward in strengthening its global presence, Singapore-based healthtech startup Symple Wellness Platform has acquired Pune-based AllizHealth, a wellness and health analytics platform, for an undisclosed sum.

With the acquisition, AllizHealth will be rebranded as Vivant, Symple’s operating brand.

Symple expands into India with its robust technology architecture, a strong operating team of almost 40 people across various functions, and close to 750k end customers.

Through its operating brand Vivant, Symple delivers a digital healthcare platform that helps customers engage with their health across the care continuum, helping them get healthy, stay healthy or manage a disease.

The wide range of services includes digital health records, health risk assessments, doctor consults, health check-ups, health coaches and condition management programmes.

Post-acquisition, three AllizHealth co-founders will continue with Vivant: Chinmoy Mishra as chief business development officer, Dr Rasmi Mishra as chief product innovation officer and Gaurav Vij as chief technology officer.

Founded in 2013, AllizHealth is a consumer-focused “wellness & health analytics platform” for early identification, tracking and management of health risks and conditions the platform enables users to store/access/share health information efficiently, track various health risks and parameters, store digitized health documents and connect with caregivers.

The companies will work together to provide a comprehensive digital health offering with over 6,500 partners.

They will also deliver solutions emphasising maternal health, menstrual health, diabetes, orthopaedics, cardiovascular, child nutrition and elder care. Customers will also have access to Vivant’s Advisory Board, which includes internationally and nationally recognised experts across key fields that impact individual and community wellbeing.

In the Indian healthtech space, we have players like MedPlus, 1mg, NetMeds, Punit Soni’s Suki, Visit, Innovaccer, Zoctr, Lybrate, and Tricog, among others.

The market for diagnostic services has been growing in India over the past couple of years at a rate of 15%-20% and stood at nearly INR 40,000 Cr as of 2016.

Healthcare is one of the biggest revenue and employment generating sectors in India and was expected to touch $ 160 bn by 2017.

The Indian healthcare market is expected to reach $280 bn by 2020, from the current $100 Bn, according to an IBEF report. With Symple entering the Indian market with AllizHealth’s acquisition, we can expect more disruption in the healthtech market.
