Portea Medical Bangalore-based home healthcare firm led by serial entrepreneur Meena Ganesh, has raised undisclosed amount in funding led by Qualcomm Ventures. The firm plans to expand its platform to over 50 cities and bolster their technology platform with this round of funding.

Meena and K Ganesh had established Portea Medical along with Dr. Manjusha Anumolu, a MD (US Board Certified) in Internal Medicine. Portea is Ganesh’s fifth venture, preceded by 4 green field ventures and exits – last year, TutorVista was sold to Pearson for $ 213 Mn.

Portea offers home visits from MBBS-level doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, nutritionists, counselors, and trained attendants.  Going forward, the firm will be focusing to work with families and create “care plans” and recommend the appropriate kind of testing, primary care and specialist care.

“Qualcomm has lot of strength in this space. Working with them will give us a huge edge over how we’re able to manage the care of our customers,” said Meena Ganesh, CEO and MD of Portea Medical.

Currently, Portea’s services are available in 11 cities including Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Mumbai etc. Last year, it had raised INR 48 Cr in Series A funding from venture capital firms, Accel Partners and Ventureast.

Recently, Qualcomm Ventures has also invested INR 39 Cr. in this mobile enterprise startup Workspot, alongwith Helion Ventures and Translink Capital.
