The non-profit Incubator, Amrita Technology Business Incubator (TBI), has chosen five startups in the third edition of its annual event ‘The TBI Pitch Fest 15’ conducted at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bangalore campus. Supported by the Govt. and Amrita University, the incubator will invest over $150,000 in the selected 5 startups.

The five startups that were selected are Pingbits, StratDecider Analytics Private Ltd, Velnatural Fibers, Shradhanjanli and Discover Dollar Technologies:

PingBits: Marketed as a smart chat messenger, Pingbits has a built-in assistant that goes through messages and suggests appropriate actions to the users, mostly persons in the age group of 15-30.

Discover Dollar Technologies: Founded in 2014, Discover Dollar helps retailers in detecting overpayment issues by analyzing various data sources including emails & contacts in real-time and also helps resolve the issues with just a click.

StratDecider Analytics: Studying the previous trends and present position of the market, StratDecider Analytics helps its clients in framing strategies in order to take on their competitors. The research methodology combines primary interviews with industry specialists and secondary data lying in social media, review sites, ecommerce websites and the huge web space.

Shradhanjali.com: It is India’s first and only memorial portal where you can share details of your loved ones who are no more but can be remembered and celebrated by all the members who dearly miss them.

Attended by over 1,500 startup enthusiasts, the event received over 450 online registrations, mostly from the IT industry, and the event was judged by Snehal Shetty, VP, Amrita TBI, Nikhil Agarwal and Subranil Gangabasi from the Entrepreneur Café; Abhinav Chaturvedi, Vice-President, Accel Partners; and the CEO and Director of Amrita TBI.

Amrita TBI was launched in 2008 and since then, it has incubated 19 startups, mentored 105, built 25 products, filed for four patents and trained 4,900 students to date and have incurred zero per cent loss from their investments. They usually take up to 5 per cent stake in the startups that they invest in.
