On-demand washing and dry cleaning startup, PickMyLaundry has acquired subscription-based laundry services provider, OneClickWash in an all cash deal.
The move aims to leverage OneClickWash’s laundry processing unit, team, and tech infrastructure to improve its service efficiency, as per an official statement.
Post the transaction, PickMyLaundry will have access to OneClick’s laundry processing unit which has the capacity of processing 1,000 kgs of clothes per day. Currently, the combined entity will run in a hybrid model.
Gurugram-based OneClickWash was launched in 2015 by Vivek Iyer and Srinivas Nudurupati. The startup provides laundry services where users can select from monthly packages and a suitable time slot for pickup.
Vivek Iyer, founder, OneClickWash said, “Over the past two years, we have created a significant footprint for the laundry category in Gurugram through a robust laundry processing unit aided by tech tools. I am confident that the PickMyLaundry team will leverage the value that we have built to scale across the country.”
OneClickWash’s app allows users to track usage, make online payments, and also earn credits by referring others. In April last year, the startup secured an undisclosed amount in funding from Unitus Seed Fund.
Founded in May 2015 by IIT alumni Gaurav Agrawal, Ankur Jain, and Samar Sisodia, PickMyLaundry is an online laundry booking startup that offers solutions for premium washing, dry-cleaning services, and wardrobe management.
Commenting on the acquisition, Gaurav Agrawal, co-founder and CEO, PickMyLaundry said, “Being a fast-growing company, we are always on the look-out for more laundry startups to augment our supply chain. OneClickWash will help us penetrate deeper within the NCR region, reduce our processing cost, and improve customer experience by reducing the turnaround time.”
PickMyLaundry currently is operational in Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida, with over 15,000 app downloads, according to an official statement. The company offers its services to both B2C and B2B clients, assures doorstep pickup and a 48-hour delivery time as well.
In August 2015, GHV Accelerator selected PickMyLaundry as the third startup for its accelerator programme. As part of its programme, PickMyLaundry received a Seed funding of $100K in exchange of 20% equity.
In November 2016, they received an undisclosed amount in funding from FMCG executive Kedar Lele and existing investor, GreenHouse Ventures Accelerator (GHV Accelerator). Later in the same month, they launched their first offline store in Gurugram. The move was aimed at creating a franchise model for the startup and reducing last-mile logistics expenses.
Other players in this segment include Urban Dhobi, SBricks, Wassup, Laundry Wala etc.
