Digital petcare startup Vetic has raised $3.7 Mn in a seed funding round led by Lachy Groom.

Angel investors including AngelList India’s Utsav Somani, Chayoos’ Nitin Saluja, OYO’s Ritesh Agarwal, Maninder Gulati, Anuj Tejpal, Abhishek Gupta and Abhinav Sinha, 1947 Rise’s Shiva Singh Sangwan, Mosaic Wellness’ Revant Bhate, and Blue Lion VC’s Manu Gupta, among others also have participated in the funding round.

Set up in August 2022 by former OYO COO and Pristyn Care’s CBO Gaurav Ajmera, Vetic operates tech-enabled digital veterinary clinics that offer varied services such as OPD, in-house diagnostics, surgeries, emergency care, grooming and online consultation.

Vetic claims to provide medical care and convenience to pets. It currently operates four veterinary clinics in Gurugram.

“Pet healthcare is going to experience the same disruption that personal healthcare has experienced over the last few decades. I believe Gaurav and the Vetic team will redefine the pet experience and build the leading pet healthcare brand in India,” said Lachy Groom.

The startup plans to expand its footprint and set up 15 clinics across Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru regions by 2023.

“Vetic believes that every pet should have access to the best medical care. We aim to deliver this through our network of tech-enabled modern pet clinics equipped with the latest medical infrastructure and experienced vets. The latest round of funding will allow us to invest in building consumer-facing technological platforms and cutting-edge medical facilities,” said Gaurav Ajmera, founder of Vetic.

The startup plans to use the fresh funds to boost its technical capabilities, build medical infrastructure and expand geographically.

According to a Research and Markets report, India’s petcare industry is anticipated to become a INR 7,500 Cr space by the end of 2026.

This month, petcare startup Supertails bagged $10 Mn in Series A funding round from Fireside Ventures and Alteria Capital.

Prior to this, Pune-based startup Wiggles secured $5.5 Mn in Pre-Series A funding round led by Anthill Ventures. While, in March, petcare startup Just Dogs received $7 Mn funding from Sixth Sense Ventures.
