After locating the major bugs in its mobile app, online cab booking startup, Ola has announced its collaboration with online payment solution firm, PayU as its payment gateway.

With this integration, Ola will now collect payments using PayU Enterprise for their all their platforms including Android, IOS, windows, mobile web and desktop web across all payment options.

Speaking on the partnership, Nitin Gupta, Co-founder & CEO, PayU India said, “We are happy to partner with Ola, one of the largest taxi aggregator, as their payment partner. Ola’s continuous endeavor is to deliver an absolutely seamless experience to their users and given our technology stack, we fitted right into their plans. Our technology stack delivers higher conversion rates and allows a user to finish a transaction on their android phone in just 2 taps! The OTP of the user is auto read and the user does not need to worry about entering password on his mobile screen.”

To differentiate the payment experience, PayU has introduced a feature that senses the one-time password that’s sent in a text message to a user’s mobile phone, dispensing with the need to type it in.

Besides, PayU is also powering their card store feature through their white labeled card vault and tokenization offering. This way the user is not required to remember card details and allows for faster checkout for future transactions.

PayU India has two brands – PayU Enterprise and PayUMoney and serves more than 65,000 businesses and merchants. PayU provides payment solutions to ecommerce firms like Snapdeal, Jabong, Bookmyshow, Cleartrip, GoIbibo, Redbus, Freecharge, Groupon, Shopclues etc. Recently, PayU India has announced the launch of its wallet service – ‘PayUMoney Wallet’ for online shoppers in India.

Ola, founded in Jan 2011 by IIT Bombay alumni Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati, Ola app is currently available on the Windows, Android and iOS store. Customers can book from over 1,00,000 vehicles across 85+ cities. The company says about 40% of its bookings are paid for using its mobile wallet, which was developed in-house, with the payment backend powered by PayU. Earlier in September, Ola had launched its in-app wallet, which allows commuters to top up their Ola Money accounts using net banking, credit or debit cards.
