Moreover, Delhi was also the most- searched destination in 2019.
Interestingly, the index highlighted that Oyo, in 2019, witnessed the maximum number of bookings on August 9. Additionally, it said that 11 AM emerged as the most popular time to book an Oyo.
Highlighting that the travel and hospitality industry has witnessed some shifts with changing consumer preferences in 2019, Gaurav Ajmera, chief operating officer, Oyo Hotels & Homes, India, said that the results indicate the growing popularity of Oyo when it comes to trusted and quality accommodations not just in India but globally.
Among all the facts which Oyo revealed in its 2019 index, one of the most bizarre facts was that one guest stayed in an Oyo for continuous 84 nights. For Oyo, Mobile bookings dominated online website bookings, according to the index.

Hotels Versus Oyo
In 2019, Oyo has witnessed numerous protests from its partner hotels. However, breaking his silence, Oyo’s founder Ritesh Agarwal recently said that those protesting are industry groups and not hotels. He also said that these groups are trying to use the situation to increase property rates.
Oyo claims to have more than 18K hotels and 2.70 Lakh rooms in India and South Asia, but many of the hotel partners are unhappy with the terms and conditions of Oyo’s contract — not just in India but across the US, Japan and a few other countries Oyo operates in.
