Bhavish Aggarwal-led EV mobility startup Ola Electric has launched ‘Ola Care Subscription’ to offer after-sales service to the owners of its electric vehicles (EVs).

The subscription plan has two tires – Ola Care, priced at INR 1,999 per year, and Ola Care+, which will cost INR 2,999 annually.

The Ola Care plan includes services such as free labour on service, theft assistance helpline, and roadside and puncture assistance. Ola Care+ will also include annual comprehensive diagnostic, free home service and pick-up/drop, free consumables, and 24/7 doctor & ambulance service, along with Ola Care benefits, the company said in a statement.

“Being a customer-centric brand, service has always been a top priority for us. Through the ‘Ola Care Subscription Plan’, we are completely reimagining the customer service experience and aim to bring in the best-in-class after-sales service for our customers,” Anshul Khandelwal, chief marketing officer of Ola, said.

The subscription plans offer customers a 360 degree access to Ola’s service network which is equipped to cater to customers at the convenience of their doorstep or at their nearest Ola Experience Centres, he added.

Ola will take care of comprehensive scooter diagnostic, towing and puncture assist, and theft assistance free of charge with the subscription plans. It will also offer other services such as 24×7 ambulance service, online doctor consultation, taxi for onward journey, hotel accommodation in case of breakdown outside city limits, and vehicle custody services for the comfort of the users

Convenience fee on home service and pick up and drop has also been waived under the plan.

Earlier this month, Ola announced its entry into the premium EV category with a fleet of 10,000 cars. The company said it was in the final stages of rolling out the pilot of the new category over the coming weeks.

Ola’s new premium fleet will be operated by top-rated drivers, and will provide benefits like 100% ride assurance post allocation of cab, zero cancellations, and 100% cashless payments, the company said.

Ola Electric, Ola’s EV arm, plans to launch multiple electric two-wheeler products, including premium motorcycles, over the next two years. The startup also aims to launch its electric car in 2024.

“In 2023 and 2024, we will launch many more 2W EV products – a mass market scooter, a mass market motorcycle, and multiple premium motorcycles (sports, cruisers, adventure and road bikes),” Ola CEO BhavishAggarwal said in a recent blog post.

Earlier this month, Ola laid off around 200 employees from its tech and product teams in a restructuring exercise. The layoffs impacted employees of Ola Cabs, Ola Electric, and Ola Financial Services verticals.
