Now you can pay online for your McChicken or McVeggie, McDonalds adds a payment gateway

According to the recent survey by IAMAI, 59% of the 3,480 respondents used credit cards to shop online and 28% used debit cards while 40% paid cash on delivery. This simply denotes that Cash On Delivery is currently popular mode of transaction while shopping online in India, but online payment too growing at a similar pattern.

McDonalds had tied up with DirecPay, payment gateway service from TimesofMoney last year to add a payment gateway to its existing services in India. The company had now started accepting online payments, thus will now allow customers to pay online while they place order on the Mcdelivery site.

Previously, the site use to allow place order online while payments were only via cash.

Ranjit Paliath, Vice President, Business Operations, Hardcastle Restaurants believes that accepting payments online will provide greater value to its customers.

Currently, the customers of West and South zone – run by the franchisee Hardcastle Restaurants, can order and pay online.

Avijit Nanda, CEO TimesofMoney said, “We are delighted to offer our payment gateway expertise to McDonald’s for easy collection of payments made to them and are confident that this would reduce some of the challenges of cash management for McDonald’s. With our enhanced MIS systems and alerts we will also track dropouts and help McDonalds work towards reducing them.”

DirecPay offers payment solutions for over 130 payment options including credit cards, debit cards and net banking transfers.
