Here is a quick look at movers and shakers of the week.

Uber Hires Former Tata Sons Executive Madhu Kannan

Uber has appointed Madhu Kannan as its Chief Business Officer for India and emerging markets. He will join the company from February 3, 2017.

Kannan will be responsible for growing Uber’s business in India and new emerging markets in the Asia-Pacific region through strategic partnerships and investment opportunities.

Kannan was most recently associated with Tata Sons Ltd as the group head of business development and public affairs. Previously, he was the CEO of stock-exchange operator BSE Ltd and a managing director at Merrill Lynch and NYSE Group.

Kannan was brought to Tata Sons when Mistry became the chief of Tata Group and his tenure came to an end after Mistry was sacked in October, 2016.

He is a graduate in electrical engineering and postgraduate in economics from BITS Pilani. He completed his MBA from Vanderbilt University.

Moonfrog Labs Hires Deepa Naidu As Director Of Human Resources

Moonfrog Labs,  a mobile gaming development company and the creator of the popular Indian poker game ‘Teen Patti Gold,’ has hired Deepa Naidu as the Director of Human Resources. It is the second strategic hire after Farmville creator, Mark Skaggs.

Deepa is known for her skill set that comprises talent acquisition and management, building high growth and a fun culture, organisation and leadership development, learning and development practices, rewards strategy and HR operations.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she joined the company four months back in November 2016. Earlier, she was working as a Consultant for startup businesses and was associated with companies such as GSN (TV & Games), Zyanga, EA and more.

She has a Masters in Computer Application from Osmania University.
