We bring to you the latest edition of movers and shakers of the week in the Indian startup ecosystem.

As work from home becomes the new normal due to the pandemic, many executives have started to question HR’s strategic value to the firms, according to a recent survey conducted by KPMG.

More than 80% of CEOs say HR has played a leading role in responding to Covid-19, KPMG said in a report titled, ”The Future of HR in the New Reality”.

However, the survey also revealed that 60% of CEOs and executive vice-presidents said that their organisations consider HR to be an “administrator” rather than a value driver.

Meanwhile, this week social media giant Facebook has awarded over $1.98 Mn to researchers from more than 107 countries for reporting bugs on the platform. India, Tunisia and the US were the top three countries based on the bounties awarded this year, the company has confirmed.

The amount has been awarded under Facebook’s bug bounty programme, which rewards researchers and cybersecurity experts for finding vulnerabilities of the platform.

MoneyTap Appoints Ashutosh Dabral

MoneyTap has appointed Ashutosh Dabral as its new Chief Product Officer. In his new role, Ashutosh will be responsible for continuing to build financial products with a best in class experience that fulfils MoneyTap users’ credit and other financial needs.

Ashutosh comes with 18+ years of experience working with big names like Yahoo, Dell, Target, and AOL. Before joining MoneyTap, he co-founded Hush, a VC-backed startup for providing career advice to Indian employees, and VoyageUp, a socialising platform for local interactions.

Mamaearth Appoints Jayant Chauhan

Mamaearth has appointed Jayant Chauhan as Chief Technology & Product Officer. In his new role, he will oversee the overall product strategy and engineering and will lead the product development and infrastructure teams.

With over 15 years of systems and product development expertise, Jayant earlier served as the Chief Product Officer at PolicyBazaar wherein he spearheaded the Consumer Product and MarTech groundwork and enabled a more tech-oriented approach.

Bharat Eat Appoints Ravi Kishan

Food delivery startup Bharat Eat has brought in actor Ravi Kishan as the brand ambassador to reach out to its target audience across the country.

Lalit Chauhan, cofounder & CEO, Bharat Eat said, “We feel honoured to have Ravi Kishan as the brand ambassador of Bharat Eat. We believe this association will further add determination to the brand and strengthen the brand and shall continue to undertake this platform for all food entrepreneurs, big or small. This collaboration will enable us to emerge as the most sustainable brand in restaurant business under AtmaNirbhar Bharat.”
