Network18 Appoints Sachin Tagra As Vice President – Capital18

Network18 has appointed a new VP for Capital18. Sachin Tagra will oversee media for equity investments and initiatives across all platforms within the Group and will report to Puneet Singhvi, Head – Corporate Development.

Prior to joining Network18, Sachin was Associate Vice President in Brand Capital, the strategic investment arm of Times Group where he focussed on driving investments in early-stage businesses and had set up the Incubator Capital investment model. He was also responsible for BC GSV labs business, a JV of BCCL with Global Silicon Valley, US.

Sachin is a management graduate with 18 years of prolific business experience and deep understanding of the consumer, retail, and media businesses. He has driven P&Ls of large businesses and made significant contributions to various organisations – from the start-up phase of the business to profitable scaling up.

Housing.com Appoints Amit Masaldan As National Sales Head

Housing.com, part of Elara Technologies Pte Ltd, which also owns PropTiger.com and Makaan.com has appointed Amit Masaldan as National Sales Head. Amit will report to Housing’s Mani Rangarajan, CBO, Platform Business Unit.

Serving as lead for the developer, broker and HomeBuy360 sales team, Amit will be responsible for further building the sales and marketing infrastructure and execute the joint go-to-market plan for Housing.com. In this critical leadership position, Amit will play a vital role in growing sales and content product revenue lines.

Prior to joining Housing.com, Amit worked with Magic Bricks and led the sales function team of more than 500 sales personnel and 30 delivery members.

As an industry veteran, Amit brings with him over 16 years of experience across the BFSI domain with companies including ABN-Amro Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Religare Securities. In his previous roles, Amit has played an instrumental role in managing the sales teams, analysing market trends and designing sales strategies.

Amit holds a Master’s degree in Management from NIMS Delhi and has graduated in Commerce from Delhi University.

IBM India Gets Chief Digital Officer

IBM India is one of the first countries outside of the US to merit a CDO (Chief Digital Officer). Nipun Mehrotra has been in appointed in this position, serving as CDO for India/South Asia. He will report to Bob Lord, the head of IBM’s digital business group.

Mehrotra will aim to transform engagements and partnerships that IBM has with startups, developers, academia and businesses. In his previous position of VP Growth Initiatives, he has led the company’s transformational directives in several areas in India and Asia.

This position marks the importance that the country holds as a market for IBM, as it plans to morph into a cloud and cognitive platform.

Cognizant CTO Joins Ventureast As Partner

Chennai-based early-to-growth stage investment firm Ventureast Advisors Pvt. Ltd has appointed IT veteran Srikanth Sundararajan as Partner.

In his new role, Sundararajan will oversee investments made from the VC firm’s recently launched $150 Mn tech fund—Ventureast Proactive Fund II (VPFII). Also, he will looking to scale up the firm’s operations for its other portfolio companies.

He is an IIT Madras and University of Illinois alumnus. He brings with him an industry experience of over 25 years. Prior to joining Ventureast, he was the Global Head of Corporate Strategy and Technology at Persistent Systems and has also served as the Chief Technology Officer at software services firms HCL Technologies and Cognizant.

During his entrepreneurial stint, he also founded a software product services firm Pretzel Logic, a software product services firm.
