“Innovation is increasingly being regarded as one of the most important capabilities to succeed in professional life and have a fulfilling personal life. Innovation in today’s time has to be practice-based and has to deliver real business value,” – Harshit Desai, director, MIT ID Innovation

Innovation and digital transformation have become a primary motivation for businesses today, with startups and product makers playing a key role in this shift. With the advent of the pandemic, startups, SMBs and large corporations alike witnessed a huge loss of revenue and production for several months. Thanks to this, they are now looking for ways to digitise and improve their innovation capabilities. And thus for any aspiring entrepreneur, working professional, startup or corporation, it is important to understand the intricacies of going online, innovating and growing business.

With this realisation, MIT ID Innovation, which already had its flagship one-year postgraduate Innovation Programme, has launched its first set of ten short term online certificate courses for working professionals aiming to build innovative solutions.

These courses range from one month to nine months in duration and cover various topics such as design thinking, customer experience, building a digital brand, business model innovation, social innovation, digital transformation, growth mindset, leading transformative innovation practice and more.

“Addressing the need for innovation, MIT ID Innovation online programmes are customised to transform potential minds into global leaders,” said Tejas Karad, project director, MIT ID Innovation

Edtech And MIT ID’s Innovation Push

Leveraging the transformation forced by Covid-19, the global edtech market size valued at $76.4 Bn in 2019, is expected to grow at a CAGR of 18.1% from 2020 to 2027. Furthermore, in 2021 alone, this market is estimated to clock a growth of eight times in three years, with paid subscription reaching 9.5 Mn from 1.57 Mn in 2016.

Thanks to this growth, the country is witnessing a huge rise in the number of edtech courses catering to various topics and sectors. “While other edtech players primarily focus on only technology and business courses, MIT ID Innovation is the only player offering integrated courses with a focus on design, creativity, career support, mentorship and coaching,” added Desai.

These courses will be offered in cohort-based, live-online format and their fee ranges from INR 25K to INR 1.25 Lakhs. Each cohort will have only 25 selected candidates for a personalised learning experience through instructor-led modules, workshops interspersed with activities, group presentations, quizzes, milestone trackers as well as access to mentoring and networking opportunities.

The faculty includes names such as former vice president and country manager at Tieto, Nilesh Sahasrabuddhe; former practice head of user experience CoE in Fiserv India, Kiran Sabnis; former director of user experience at Honeywell, Unmesh Kulkarni; managing director and chief design strategist at Turian Labs, Manoj Kothari and more.

“Each guest faculty and collaborator bring along their own experiences and perspectives of the various facets of innovation.
