Meet The Three Women Led Startups That Won The HerPitch Event

In order to promote women entrepreneurship, HerSaga in association with Hong Kong based Jaarvis Accelerator recently organised an event –HerPitch.

The event’s aim is to provide a platform for women entrepreneurs to nurture their ideas, help them realize their full potential and to increase the participation of women in startups. Out of several applications received, only 10 applications were selected and out of which 7 startups pitched live on Friday, 3rd June. The startups with at least one woman co-founder were eligible to apply to this program.

The winners included Rachna Pandey’s Ithaka Tales – a pocket travel guide app that provides users travel experience in various formats, ranging from images and text to self-guided audios; Devakshi Nayar’s Hope Collective – an online marketplace for merchandise produced by NGOs and social enterprises and Jenny Charan’s RF Creators which have brought customized RF antennas and circuit design and development to the Indian markets.

All shortlisted HerPitch startups will now be considered for entry into the Jaarvis Accelerator program.

The jury was comprised of Ishita Anand, Co-founder and CEO at BitGiving, Rohit Kumar, Founder and CEO at Chapter Apps, Saumya Vardhan, Founder and CEO at Shubhpuja and Sumeer Walia, Director-CEED, Chitkara University. Brett Stevens, Vice President at Jaarvis Accelerator and Vikas Kumar, Founder at Hersaga.

The startups were selected on the basis of  whether JA is able to assist each of the startups at this stage of their growth, or will it be able to  provide domain expertise, mentors.

The other startups that pitched included:

PoolWallet

Founder: Smita Sharma

It is a mobile peer-to-peer and group payments social network which allows the users to share expenses and split payments. It aggregates multiple mobile wallets and payments system to allow online real time sharing of expenses.

Foospot

Founder: Ekta Sengar

It allows the users to find out real time availability of parking spots and pre book them by paying through an online wallet. It also provides the facility of on demand valet and Vehicle-towing.

Zucate

Founder: Moitreyee Goswami

Zucate is an interactive learning technology which aims to fundamentalise learning and enhance accessibility in K-12 segment. the education pattern is customized to suit the learning curve of a child, while giving him/her access to a network of teachers to clear doubt through live time chats and forums.

Campify

Founder: Divya Goyal

This mobile app aims to keep the students updated about latest news, events and academic updates in the college campus. From academic information to the news and events, this app broadcasts live updates and keep the students informed about every tiny update.
