US-based early-stage startup accelerator programme Y Combinator conducts two cohorts every year, selecting startups to pump $500K into them. In 2021, 74 Indian startups made it to the list divided into two cohorts — Winter (43) and Summer (31).
The Winter 2022 cohort has only begun and consists of 192 startups across the world. Of the list, we have scouted 21 of the many Indian startups that will be participating in the winter batch of 2022 — scheduled to be conducted between January and March 2022.
The three-month-long intensive accelerator programme is held twice a year for early-stage ventures around the globe. It also hosts a demo day, along with several investors from across the world, to invest in these ventures. Besides the financial aid and fine-tuning the startup’s pitch deck, it also supports and mentors them to deal with investors and acquirers.
Y Combinator has invested in 150+ Indian startups so far, and some of its last batch, wiz., Summer 2021 batch’s startups include payroll app for small businesses SalaryBox, new-age digital bank Walrus, real estate marketplace PropReturns, stock market education startup marketfeed, among others.
