Venture capital firm Accel’s accelerator programme Atoms has launched its second cohort, featuring 10 homegrown early-stage startups.
Atoms will invest $250K non-dilutive capital in the selected pre-seed and seed-stage startups from India. The programme also offers one-to-one mentorship by veteran industrialists and access to Accel’s international community to the startups selected for the cohort.
“The zero-to-one journey for an entrepreneur is the most challenging as it sets the foundation for the company. Having been the VC firm of choice for many companies, Accel has a deep understanding of what founders need from the very beginning of their journey. Atoms is created to assist these founders in their journey to build successful companies,” said Prayank Swaroop, partner at Accel India.
Founded in 2021, Atoms is a 100-day accelerator program that helps selected startups scale their businesses through workshops, setting objectives and key results (OKRs) and building a peer community, among others.
Atoms has so far backed a total of 24 Indian startups across diverse sectors like SaaS, B2B marketplaces, Web3, D2C, hardware, health and wellness. These startups have secured aggregate funding of over $100 Mn from VCs and investors till date.
Some of the entrepreneurs offering mentorship under the Atoms programme are Swiggy’s Nandan Reddy, Chargebee’s Germain Brion, Urban Company’s Raghav Chandra and CRED’s Harish Sivaramakrishnan.
Over the years, Accel has backed Indian startups like Flipkart, Freshworks, Infra.Market, Cure Fit, Mensa Brands, Moglix, Ninjacart, Swiggy, Stanza Living, Urban Company, and Zenoti.
