Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has launched his premium ‘Digital India Project’. PM has announced various schemes including Digital Locker, e-education, e-health and National Scholarships Portal.

Digital India is government’s initiative to connect the entire country through broadband by 2019. Projectwill bring 2.5 lakh villages under broadband connectivity, promote e-governance, realize universal phone connectivity to make India a global leader of IT in services like health, education and banking.

 


National fibre network has started working on laying the fibre for this project, 250000 gram panchayats will be connected through optic fibre. The cost is estimated to be nearly Rs 1 lakh crore to 1.3 lakh crore.
