The Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digital India mission has started with a great pace. The IT exporter of country, Karnataka has launched India’s first mobile governance platform “Mobileone.” The platform was launched in Bangalore on Monday by the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, who extoled the move.

The app is available on both iOS and Android platforms and can be accessed from all over India. With the help of this newly launched app around 4,500 services can be availed. This mobile governance initiative will allow people to access services like, payment of utility bills and property tax, booking railway tickets, applying for driving licences and filing income-tax returns.

Not only this, non-smartphone users can also use this app. For this a dedicated number ‘161’ has been set apart through which users can avail the service with the help of an integrated voice response system and SMS.

This app is being developed by IMI Mobile, global technology company providing software and services which help businesses capitalise on the growth in mobile communication. The state government will soon add more services to Mobileone like, paying for your Bangalore Metro ride to filing FIRs from the comfort of their home or office.

During the launch of this app, Chief Minister, S Siddaramaiah said that Karnataka is the first state to develop a mobile application approved by the Apple Store. It is the first state to have a mobile app that is accessible all over India. You can get our app from 1-800-425-425-425.”
