Hyderabad-based aerospace and defence manufacturing startup Jeh Aerospace has raised $2.75 Mn (approximately INR 21 Cr) in a seed funding round led by General Catalyst.
The round also saw participation from a clutch of industry players, including Boeing India’s former president and MD Pratyush Kumar and Airbus India’s former CEO and MD Dwarakanath Srinivasan, among others.
Founded by Vishal Sanghavi and Venkatesh Mudragalla in 2022, Jeh Aerospace offers ready manufacturing solutions to the aerospace and defence industry through its manufacturing facilities and vetted supplier networks.
Jeh aims to solve global supply chain constraints in the aerospace and defence industry. Besides, it also offers supply chain solutions to other small and large scale manufacturing companies in the space.
With supply chain management solutions, Jeh further aims to cater to the global manufacturing companies in the aerospace industry and offer them India’s capabilities, capacities and cost competitiveness and develop a reliable and resilient supply base in a hassle-free manner.
As per Sanghavi, the startup primarily operates in the manufacturing segment of aircraft components.
Sanghavi told Inc42 that the freshly raised funds will be allocated towards expanding the team, brand marketing and building manufacturing capacity.
“We plan to become a team of 200 people in the next six months,” he added.
Sanghavi also stated that Jeh is set to open its first manufacturing unit soon.
The funding announcement comes days after India’s trade and commerce minister Piyush Goyal addressed the National Startup Awards saying that defence and aerospace are still unexplored areas in terms of the number of startups. In the segment, Telangana-based Axial Aero received National Startup Awards from DPIIT this year.
