iProf raises $ 9 Mn in funding led by dmgi with participation of NVP and IDG

Digital learning startup – iProf Learning Solutions has recently raised $9 Mn (Rs. 55 crore) in Series B funding, led by daily mail group information (dmgi) on behalf of its education subsidiary, Hobsons.  Along with dmgi, its existing investors – Norwest venture partner (NVP) and IDG ventures India, also participated in this round.

With this funding round, total funding raised by iProf has reached $15 Mn.

Founded by Sanjay Purohit in 2010, iProf delivers elearning content both in India and internationally. The company is credited with building digital education via tablets and has been successful in deploying it across geographies, thereby. It serves over millions of customers both online and offline through PCs, tablets and mobile phones.

“This new funding will help us in further consolidating our leadership and serve thousands of schools by our new product SchoolEra,” said Sanjay Purohit, Founder and CEO, iProf.

Through this investment, we will continue to expand our geographical footprint in South Asia while exploring opportunities to contribute to new K-12 solutions that will help students in India achieve their post-secondary goals,” said Hobsons’ CEO, Craig Heldman.”
