Inflection Point Launches $110 Mn Angel Fund From GIFT City

Angel investing firm Inflection Point Ventures has launched IPV International, a  $110 Mn (around INR 960 Cr) category I angel fund registered under GIFT City’s International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) framework.

The sector-agnostic fund will invest in early to Pre-Series A stage startups across both Indian and global markets, with ticket sizes ranging from $100K-1 Mn.

IPV International marked its first close in April. It has already made its first investment in a Singapore-based deeptech startup Cellivate Technologies.

The fund enables participation from non-resident Indians (NRIs), overseas citizens of India (OCIs) and foreign nationals without requiring Indian tax filings, provided their only India-sourced income is from GIFT City. 

The fund also eases regulatory barriers for Indian residents looking to invest in foreign startups by bypassing some of the complexities associated with ODI and SEBI approvals.

According to the angel investing firm, the fund intends to use GIFT City’s platform to tap into cross-border opportunities and engage more directly with international startup ecosystems.

Founded in 2018, IPV is an angel investing platform with over 24,000 CXOs, HNIs, and Professionals investing together in startups. It includes the likes of Kazam, My Pahadi Dukan and STAGE among its portfolio companies. 

Last year, IPV made a complete exit from the women’s fashion and apparel brand FASHOR with an IRR of 33%. It also has an accelerator programme for pre-seed and seed stage startups where it mentors the participants on developing their business models and provides an initial investment of INR 1 Cr. Earlier this year, IPV announced the third cohort of its early state accelerator programme. 

The development comes at a time when the Indian startup ecosystem is recovering from the aftermath of the funding winter seeing an 8% uptick in total funding to $5.7 Bn in H1 2025 from $5.3 Bn in the same period of last year.
