Media Startup Kumparan Raises Funding

Media startup based out of Indonesia, Kumparan has secured an undisclosed amount of funding from a clutch of investors. The startup launched its Beta version in 2017 itself.

The startup is a hybrid web platform that combines news with social networking. The platform allows users to create videos, articles and also follow other users by adding their profiles. As per a report by Deal Street Asia, the startup has 100 public figures on its platform including Indonesia’s IT Minister Rudiantara, singer Aimee Saras, actress Karina Salim, politician Hidayat Nur Wahid etc.

Ecommerce Startup Berrybenka Secures Funding

Indonesian ecommerce startup Berrybenka has secured an undisclosed amount of funding in a round led by Maj Invest Private Equity, Asia Summit Capital, and Softbank-Indosat Fund. Several undisclosed local investors also participated in the round.

The funding will be used to increase its O2O presence, launching 10 to 15 pop-up stores in Indonesia cities such as Pontianak, Balikpapan and Ambon, as well as establishing six to 10 permanent stores, as per a report by Deal Street Asia.

GoMart Expands To Seven New Cities

Shopping handle of GoJek, GoMart has now forayed into seven new Indonesian cities, reported DailySocial. The cities are Palembang, Balikpapan, Batam, Solo, Malang, Manado and Samarinda.

This development comes nine months after GoMart stepped outside the Jakarta regions and started entering new cities. Other players in the similar segment include HappyFresh, HonestBee, KSupermarket, and Hypermart among others.
