Two Women Led Startups From India To Get A Chance To Be Part Of Start Tel Aviv Finals

In a bid to boost women entrepreneurship in India, the Embassy of Israel in cooperation with TiE Delhi-NCR will be hosting the “Start Tel Aviv” (Start TLV) challenge on Friday this week.

The finalists of the national competition in India will pitch their startups to a panel of experts.

This includes Dev Khare, Managing Director, LightSpeed Ventures India; Rajesh Razdan, Founder & CEO, mCarbon; Ankita Vashishth from Saha Fund (Women-Focussed Fund); Gaurav Bhatnagar, Co-Founder, Travel Boutique Online; Kalpana Jain, Partner, Deloitte Tohmatsu; and Gita Dang, Talent Advisory Services from the local “Shark Tank”.

The Five Finalists For The Event Are:

Advenio TecnoSys – Advenio was founded by Mausumi Acharyya with a vision to provide artificial intelligence, deep learning and machine learning based computer assisted detection (CADx) for diagnostic clinical imaging. Our focus is on Developing World, Universal Healthcare and Equitable Healthcare.

Medimojo – Medimojo is a health analytics company. Users can can store, track and share their health on the go. It aims to disrupt the healthcare industry with patient centric data portability platform. It was founded by Vikas Ranjan and Dr. Shikha Suman and is based in New Delhi.

Technology Uncorked – Gurgaon-based Technology Uncorked is a community of innovators, developers, dreamers and creators.

XLPAT – Automated Patent Tools – Xlpat Labs is a platform for automated and user friendly patent tools – optimising search time. IT has patent and technology coverage of over 120 countries which allows users thorough & exhaustive patent searches.

EZspend Prepaid Cards – EZspend is a prepaid card in association with MasterCard & YES Bank. These cards are accepted across India on the MasterCard network.

The two winners will join the winners from 23 different countries around the world in Tel Aviv, Israel, in September 2016 to take part in an intense, five-day startup experience. Also, they will join local Israeli entrepreneurs and participate in lectures, workshops, and meetings with leading Israeli and international investors and professionals.

What Is Start Tel Aviv?

Start Tel Aviv 2016 is a global annual event organised by the Israeli MFA and Tel Aviv Municipality. The fourth edition of Start Tel Aviv will be held in Israel from 2September 25 – Septmer 29, 2016. The goal is to help promising early stage startups meet and establish relationships with potential customers, partners and high profile industry leaders alike.

For the first time ever, the 2016 edition of START TLV has focussed on women entrepreneurs from sectors such as ICT, web, mobile, IOT, and technology product targetted to the global market.

Ditza Froim, Head of Public Diplomacy at the Embassy of Israel, applauded the indomitable spirit of women leaders to innovate and succeed and said, “No socio-economic ecosystem is complete unless it incorporates all segments of society, even more so when it comes to building an ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation.”

The applications were opened on May 10 to apply for the event. Winner of the Indian finals for Start TLV 2015, was Gautam Shewakramani, Founder & CEO of AudioCompass, which turns smartphones into personal tour guides.

Tel Aviv, Israel’s business capital is a leading innovation hub with a local ecosystem of world class tech talents, dozens of leading multinationals and hundreds of tech startups.  On the other hand, Israel, known as Startup Nation, through its human capital, generates more startup companies than other nation around the world. In addition, Israel attracts over twice as much venture capital investment per capita than the US and EU combined.
