Marketing platform for the F&B industry, Mobikon has invested an undisclosed amount in Hipcask, an online gifting platform for alcohol and coffee.

Samir Khadepaun, CEO, Mobikon said, “We have led this round of funding and taken a significant stake in the company.”

Other investors who participated in the round include Rajesh Sawhney, Japan Vyas, perk.com’s founder Surojit Niyogi among others. Hipcask had earlier raised funding from Mobikon and BOLD Capital.

Hipcask (formerly Indian Wine List) was founded in 2012 by Aneesh Bhasin and Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya. It sells e-gift vouchers, which in turn can help drive traffic to restaurants.

As a part of its association with Mobikon, now this service will be offered as an offering through the new integrated F&B services management platform that Mobikon will launch next month.

The new platform will cover everything from website creation, online order booking and table reservations to loyalty management and cloud-based telephony services.

As per Samir Khadepaun, co-founder of Mobikon, the new platform, mEngage, was the first end-to-end customer service management (CRM) platform aimed at restaurants, unlike other foodtech solutions which typically cater to one or two aspects of it. The new platform integrates solutions from the two acquisitions – Trii.be in August 2015 and MassBlurb in June this year.

Furthermore, Mobikon is launching a webstore that will operate like an app store integrated with the platform. Here, it would provide solutions from other tech providers that restaurants can get added to their CRM platform.

Hipcask would allow restaurants to create their own gift cards. The new platform would also be available on mobile and offer a social media marketing tool to help manage their presence on various platforms.

Founded in 2010, by Samir Khadepaun and Salil Khamkar, Mobikon has expertise in customer engagement which includes feedback, reservation management, loyalty, CRM and ordering.

According to the company website it has over 350 brands spanning 2,400+ outlets in 9 countries using Mobikon’s platform, modules and engagement tools to interact with customers. The platform has engaged over 4,300,000+ customers and powered 2,100,000+ reviews. Currently, it has a team of 70 people in 7 offices in Asia.
