Bangalore-based startup HackerEarth has announced the launch of HackerEarth Sprint, a tool that allows organisers conduct hackathons easily by minimizing the effort and time required. Aadhar Hackathon conducted by HackerEarth, in association with NASSCOM, on January 10 -11 became the first event to be hosted on this platform.
Designed with view to automate the entire process of conducting Hacking Events, HackerEarth Sprint can be used for creating teams, showcasing products and tracking progress besides other features. The tool allows participants to link with online platforms like Github, Heroku, AWS etc. And, in the next version, the company plans to make its activity visible on the social media by integrating it with Twitter and Facebook.
HackerEarth Sprint appears to be a useful tool for companies that regularly hold coding contests to engage with their programmers. HackerEarth Sprint besides providing companies insights into their developer community, also helps them with positive branding and intra-company engagement.
According to Sachin Gupta, CEO & Co-founder of HackerEarth, “Hackathons in India are becoming extremely popular and HackerEarth Sprint aims to simplify the process of conducting hackathons for our customers. The initial feedback from the industry has been very positive.”
On the launch of the tool, Vivek Prakash, CTO & Co-founder, HackerEarth said, “ Technical recruitment companies are facing challenges due to a fragmented developer community. HackerEarth Sprint is aimed at helping run hackathons better and bigger.”
HackerEarth helps tech companies hire developers using their platform. Through its pre-ranked network of developers, assessed through their skills, HackerEarth aims to ease technical recruitment for its clients, who can save developer hours by automating the entire assessment process. It also organizes coding events for its developer community to help strengthen their skills. Previously, tech companies like Wipro and Pearson have associated with HackerEarth to host hackathons as part of their inter-company engagement.
Recently, HackerEarth has brought forth an initiative to help the programmers move a step closer to becoming better at coding. The startup has launched IPledge campaign that promises to provide the coder community, with a learning track and all the resources to improve their skills. As the need for programmers becomes greater, this campaign aims to promote GREAT programmers over more programmers. More than 10000 programmers have already joined the event.
