We bring to you the latest edition of movers and shakers of the week in the Indian startup ecosystem.

In one of the biggest news this week, Google has appointed Sanjay Gupta as its new country manager and vice president of sales and operations for India. Gupta will contribute to Google’s ongoing efforts to expand the internet ecosystem in the country, driving Internet adoption among consumers and businesses and accelerating innovation.

He will take on the role early next year and will be based out of Mumbai working closely with the teams based in Gurugram, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

With a career spanning nearly three decades, Gupta joins Google from Star and Disney India where he was the managing director. He has also worked in Hindustan Unilever and Bharti Airtel.

Gupta is a postgraduate from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata and is an engineer from Delhi College of Engineering.

Zolostays Appoints Sidhartha Mehra As Chief Financial Officer

Zolostays has appointed Sidhartha Mehra as its chief financial officer. In his new role, Mehra will be responsible for leading and overseeing Zolo’s financial operations with a sustainable financial model, in line with the company’s growth strategy.

Mehra brings with him 19 years of experience in financial management, planning and finance transformation. In past, Mehra has played various roles in finance departments at Jupiter Capitals, FP&A Leader, Barclays, GE Capital Solutions, GECIS, among others.

The Bengaluru-based coliving startup builds a network of affordable housing for students, freshers and professionals who move out from their hometown for education or in search of jobs.

CFO Pradip Kumar Menon Mades His Exit From Tech Firm Mindtree

Tech firm Mindtree has confirmed the resignation of Pradip Kumar Menon from the position of CFO. The company said Menon will be relieved from the services on November 15, 2019.

In a regulatory filing, Mindtree stated that Pradip Kumar Menon has tendered his resignation as the Chief Financial Officer of the company as he would be pursuing career opportunities outside the company.

In past, Menon has worked in L&T, AkzoNobel, Hindustan Unilever Limited, among others. At L&T, Menon played a substantial role in overseeing L&T’s acquisition of 60% stake in Mindtree. Prior to joining Mindtree, he was CFO and whole-time director at AkzoNobel in India and has also worked with Unilever for over 20 years.
is a charted accountant and a graduate in commerce from St. Xavier’s College, University of Delhi.

TO THE NEW Appoints TK Verma As Head of Enterprise Business In The US

TO THE NEW has appointed TK Verma as head of its enterprise business in the US Verma brings to the company with 25 years of experience in the BFSI Industry.

In the past, he has played various leadership and consulting roles at global financial services firms like BOA Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and BNY Mellon.

Verma has earned his MBA degree in finance from New York University’s (NYU) Stern School of Business and graduating in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
