In this week’s edition, Gary talks about the importance of mixing things up in order to increase macro for the business. While having a meeting with the VaynerMedia sales team, Gary says, “Take a break week, where you work on different stuff…it’s a great way for us to mix people. So, we create little four-person teams that don’t work together and that creates culture.”
Gary gives the example of how a four-person beta team consisting of creative, accounts, strategy, paid could change the five-year macro vision for the business. “I’d probably pay for this break week,” he says.
He further highlighted that most people think entrepreneurship is all about glamour, billion dollar valuations, private planes, etc. “But the reality is that 99% of the successful entrepreneurship is just like an axe to the tree or milking a f***ing cow.”
There is no shortcut to success. “ I know what you want. I understand what it looks like from outside with all the people winning. The truth is it’s 99% eating the S***. It is the non sexy S*** that is the foundation of the successful entrepreneurship.”
