Funding Galore: A Look At Startups That Raised Funding This Week

The week saw number of funding activities in the Indian startup ecosystem. Venture Capital firms including Matrix, Qualcomm and Orios led funding round in the staratups. With this, one of the biggest deal in online auto segment took place where CarDekho acquired Gaadi.com

Have a look at the startups that raised funding this week.

Flinto: A subscription ecommerce startup Flinto is designed to engage children in a meaningful way at home has raised INR 1.8 Cr from group of investors led by GSF. The startup plans to use the raised funds to increase its marketing activities and to expand its operations.

LimeTray: It raised undisclosed amount in Series A round of funding led by Matrix Partners and others. Limetray is a provider of back-end technology to restaurants to enable them to carry out critical processes like managing their online presence, doing deliveries, and managing their POS and CRM systems. It has already signed up over 200 restaurants, mainly in the Delhi NCR area.

Traffline: Birds Eye Systems, which offers real-time traffic and travel information for Indian cities under its brand Traffline has raised undisclosed amount in funding led by Qualcomm Ventures and others.  The startup plans to use the raised funds in product development, marketing and user acquisition, multi-city expansion etc.

Ziffi: Earlier known as DocSuggest, the startup raised INR 15 Cr in Series A round of funding led by Orios Venture Partners. It plans to deploy the raised funds for expanding in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore & Hyderabad. It further plans to utilize the funds raised for expanding its network, strengthen technology interface and design, and invest in marketing and brand building.

Apart from funding’s, making it one of the biggest deal in the fragmented online auto classifieds, Sequoia Capital-backed Cardekho acquired Ibibo Group-owned Gaadi.com. Ibibo had acquired Gaadi.com in 2011. Though amount of the deal has been left undisclosed but as per reports, CarDekho might have put in $11 Mn for buying Gaadi.com.
