Stay Ahead With Daily News & Analysis on India’s Tech & Startup Economy
Festive season is finally here! Ecommerce biggies – Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal – are all set with firepower in their arsenal to gain the best out it. While Amazon’s Diwali sale starts tonight – Snapdeal and Flipkart will follow the yearly fashion of “Festive Sales” day after tomorrow.
For Indian shoppers, the three biggies will be throwing away the best of jaw dropping deals in the next three- days – and with all the hype and noise around the days will be full of fun for the Internet population.
And, just to add spice to the game, Flipkart today released a GIF – which sweetly takes a dig on Snapdeal and Amazon and is getting viral over the net. As shown in the GIF, Flipkart issued a notice in shopper’s interest, ‘not to shop’ on first day of the month but on October 2 as the real deal begins only then with Flipkart’s Big Billion Day. The most interesting part comes later.
Check out on your own, how this time Flipkart completely left both its competitors in the dust on the social platform.
Hang on India. The real deals begin only on the 2nd of October on India’s biggest sale – The #BigBillionDays. So first, wait for the 2nd. pic.twitter.com/eKC4CJFT1r

Also, Flipkart has urged its customers to beware of fake offers and discounts, being offered on various ‘fraudulent’ websites. These offers are being circulated via email, SMS or WhatsApp messages, and have been created with the sole intention of misleading and cheating buyers, by misappropriating the familiar and trustworthy name of Flipkart.
As mentioned in a company statement, “Flipkart puts utmost importance on the safety and security of online transactions on its marketplaces as well as for the larger e-commerce ecosystem. We believe it is our responsibility to safeguard the rights and reputations of our customers as well as our sellers and employees including logistics personnel.”
With the approaching festival season, India’s ecommerce sector is sure to become a battleground with Flipkart, Amazon India, and Snapdeal being the major players. It would be worth watching who emerges as the winner on this festive season.
