Exclusive: Mumbai Based Visitor Registration App Gorkha Gets INR 1 Cr.

Mumbai based visitor registration app Gorkha has raised INR 1 Cr. in funding from an angel investor Ramesh kavediya ( Siddhi vinayak developers,Pune). The funds raised will be used in building technology, marketing, infrastructure development and expansion.

Hitesh Malviya and Suraj Sunder had launched Gorkha in February this year. The app simply verify visitor details with Mobile number and a photograph and send a confirmation call/sms to resident.  Family members, staffs and pre registered visitors have fast checkin process, thus, they don’t need to wait for confirmation and verification.

The data is automatically uploaded from the Tablet to the servers, and everything is constantly backed up, which can be seen from resident web dashboard.

One can also automatically pre-register all expected Eventbrite guests. If someone pre-register a visitor, they will receive email with the date and time of the meeting, along with information like parking, elevator instructions, the Wi-Fi password, and even nearby coffee shops. Gorkha sends an email, text message,  notification when the visitor has checked in.

The company monetizes through a SaaS model, and there are two tiers of Gorkha, at a INR 7500 and INR 12500 a month price point per society.  

Its target audiences are MID and HIGH END Societies in metro cities, Gorkha will cost INR 50/month for residents. At initial stage Gorkha had signed up with two renowned builders of pune for 50 societies. “We will be soon be coming out with ipad version of this app and solutions for offices and hotels,” said Hitesh Malviya.

The company had a one month trial for two societies in Pune, during which it registered 5000+ visitors, exchanged 10,000+ sms and created 100+ events through the app.
