Dell Services is all set to launch its Application Testing Startup Incubator Programme in India for startups operating in the space of security, mobile, and Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications. Dell already has an incubation center in The United States and this will be the first one in India.
With this programme, the company aims to connect entrepreneurs to its application testing services. The two-tier selection process will include in-person discussion with registered startups, followed by a presentation to the Dell Testing Innovation Steering Committee.
A total of three startups will be selected in the 1st round. The chosen startups after selection process will be connected with Dell’s technology evangelists for advice and consulting, and will be helped in creating their Intellectual Property, to enhance their (Dell) business.
This program will be covering testing-as-a-service as well as crowd testing. GitHub is one such example of crowdsourced development where a code is available publically so that amends can be made openly.
On this development, Dhiraj Sinha, executive director, Application Testing, Dell Services said “For Dell, this program will help us explore ways to strengthen our service offering to improve cycle time and quality and pass on cost reductions to our customers.”
Submissions for this programme are now open to startups that are focused on application testing and own unique IP in this space. They will be evaluated on various criterias including uniqueness of IP and stage of innovation, concept, beta, installations and future roadmap.

A couple of foreign incubators and accelerators have recently plotted their way to India. In recent times, various international MNCs, companies and incubators have also announced launch of their incubator programs in India, these include
- Dream Incubator Inc. (DI), Tokyo-based PE firm has announced a launch of its incubator facility in India and also a $100 Mn DIAIF II fund for Indian and South East Asian countries.
- Alibaba-Globals: Earlier this year, Alibaba announced that it will be launching an incubator program in India for mobile and internet startups with partnership with Bangalore-based analytics solution company, Globals.
