At a time when generative AI is gaining popularity, deeptech platform WorkHack has raised a funding of $1.5 Mn in a round co-led by Together Fund and Nexus Venture Partners to help enterprises deploy the technology.
The funding round also saw participation from The New Normal Fund and other angel investors.
Founded in 2021 by Akshat Tyagi, WorkHack claims to be a guardrail that helps eliminate the risk and complexity of using generative AI for real-life use cases. The deeptech startup claims to be working with several companies to enable them to deploy AI in various functions.
The startup offers templates of use cases for businesses to develop customised conversational agents and deploy them over their own channels such as delivery stacks like web, mobile and Whatsapp.
WorkHack, which started its journey by offering AI services to clients in the recruitment industry for interviews using ChatGPT3, claims to have onboarded multiple enterprises of different sizes and branched into the marketing-tech sector with use-cases for conversions, consultation journeys, cancellations, habit formation and lead qualification.
Commenting on ChatGPT, Tyagi said, “Hubspot and Salesforce have attempted to use generative AI within their current products. WorkHack answers the questions of how to make the adoption scale responsibly.”
“Our core strength is recognising what areas of human interactions can significantly benefit from a technology that appears to be able to think and reason,” he added.
The development comes at a time when OpenAI’s chatbot ChatGPT has taken the world by storm. Last week, Google announced that Bard, the tech giant’s competitor for ChatGPT, would now be available in 180 countries, including India.
The Indian government has also taken a number of measures to adopt the generative AI technology in fields ranging from education to farming.
As per NASSCOM data, about 4,16,000 professionals in India are working with AI. The growth rate for the sector is estimated at about 20-25%. Further, AI is expected to contribute an additional $957 Bn to India’s economy by 2035.
While presenting the Union Budget 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Centre is looking to create a skilled AI talent pool. The fourth edition of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana will provide on-job training and courses in emerging technologies such as AI, she said.
