Hyderabad-based D2C wellness startup Good Health Company (GHC) has raised $10 Mn in its Series A round led by Left Lane Capital. The round also saw participation from existing investors Khosla Ventures, Quiet Capital and Weekend Fund.

The men’s personal care-focussed startup plans to use the funds for product innovation, category expansion and building a larger team. It also plans to focus on its newly launched vertical – Saturn by GHC – which will offer women’s personal care products.

Launched in 2021 by Samarth Sindhi and Saurav Panda as a subsidiary of the healthtech Digi-Prex (now Raksha Health), GHC launched a line of men’s wellness and personal care products to cater for categories such as hair fall, sexual health, weight loss, skincare and more.

Raksha Health raised $5.5 Mn in its seed round of funding in 2019, followed by a $5.2 Mn seed round into GHC (previously Good Health Clinic) in June 2022.

While GHC initially focused on the personal care market for men with Mars by GHC, the startup soon started replicating the success in the women’s personal care and wellness space and launched Saturn by GHC.

Besides offering over 40 products in eight categories across men’s and women’s personal care, the startup also provides free consultations from experts on skincare, haircare and sexual health concerns.

“In the last few months, we have worked towards expanding the product categories and introducing informative content to raise awareness about men’s self-care needs,” Sindhi said in a statement.

He added that the next step is bringing every healthcare concern under its category and offering content-to-commerce flywheel to users across the country.

GHC operates in the under-penetrated men’s personal care space. The $1.2 Bn worth of market remains virtually untapped and pale in comparison to the women’s grooming and personal care market and is largely dominated by legacy players such as Nivea, Gillette, Old Spice and Park Avenue.

However, new age D2C brands such as Bombay Shaving Company, Ustraa, Man Matters, Beardo, The Man Company and more startups are coming of age into the sector.
