Delhi based educational search engine for colleges, courses and exams across India, Collegedunia has raised INR 1 Cr. in funding round led by Affiliate Marketing Company 3.14 Digital, Umang Kumar, CEO of Gaadi.com and a few other investors.

The startup plans to use the funding raised to build Content and technology.

Collegedunia.com is an extensive search engine for the students, parents, and education industry players who are seeking information on the higher education sector in India and abroad. The website lists 15000 colleges from three fields i.e. Management, Engineering and Medical and has plans to roll out other streams like Arts, Science & Commerce.

Going forward, the startup plans to cover over 30000 colleges by the end of 2014.

About the scope of Education Classifieds as a vertical Sahil Chalana Founder of Collegedunia,  said “The overall Spends on Education in the Digital Marketing space exceed 500 Crore and growing at more than 30% YoY. Although, print takes a big chunk of the 5000 Education Advertising Market, it’s moving much faster towards Digital.”

The firm already counts NIIT Ltd, Educomp, Hughes Education, Sikkim Manipal University, LPU, Symbiosis University, IMT Ghaziabad as its clients.

3.14 Digital has said that it will incubate the company as well.
