The bad days for Olacabs are still not over, after Delhi Govt issued notice to the private cab service to put a hold on its service, Indore’s Regional Transport Office on Tuesday seized about 16 Olacabs that were either running without registration or without the police verification of the hired drivers.

“During the special drive against the private cabs running in city, vehicles of OLA Company were found to have been running without registration, taxi permits, police verification of the drivers and Global Positioning System (GPS). The company did not have a valid permission despite transport minister Bhupendra Singh’s strict instructions for action against the cabs running in contrary to Motor Vehicle Act,” said RTO MP Singh.

According to him, Olacabs is hiring the drivers without proper police and checking the antecedents of drivers, despite of directives by the authorities to employ a driver only after a police verification, and then the company should have got the vehicles registered.

Reports suggests that about 100 Olacabs are running in the city of Indore without the GPS system in many of its cars. “The company which claims to run with global positioning system, (GPS), was found many of its cabs did not install the system. And on questioning the drivers, they answered that the company has promised to install the GPS by next month,” he added.

Olacabs response is awaited.
