Blinkit has rolled out an EMI (equated monthly installments) payment option for customers, allowing them to split transactions for purchases over INR 2,999.

“We believe this will improve affordability and enable better financial planning for our customers,” said Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit in a post on Linkedin.

The feature is applicable to all orders except those containing gold and silver coins.

The update comes a day after the quick commerce major launched a ‘Blinkit Seller Hub’ to help brands list on the quick commerce platform and start selling their products.

The company has also introduced a return option for categories such as clothing and footwear in select cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune.

Moreover, Blinkit recently launched a feature allowing businesses to add their Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) during purchases on the platform.

The startup is also reportedly considering introducing a cafe feature to offer snack and beverage deliveries.

Importantly, Blinkit has become a key growth driver for Zomato in recent quarters. Its revenue surged 2X to INR 1,156 Cr in the second quarter of FY25, up from INR 505 Cr in the same period last year.

Currently, Blinkit operates 639 dark stores across the country, with the average daily GOV per store rising to INR 10 Lakh.Looking ahead, Blinkit plans to expand its dark store network to 2,000 by the end of FY26.

However, the company is seeing a decline in its market share in the Delhi NCR region as the company has shifted its focus on expanding its presence in other metro cities.
