Bangalore-based professional services marketplace, Qyk, that aims at providing a solution to hire local service provider has raised undisclosed amount of angel funding from early investors of Ola, Housing.com and Delhivery.

The prominent investors comprise of Zishaan Hayath, co-founder of Toppr and Powai Lake Ventures, Abhishek Goyal CEO and co-founder of Tracxn.com and ex-Accel partner and Sahil Barua, CEO and co-founder of Delhivery.

Launched in November 2014, Qyk allows users to find local service providers including tutors, coaches, event organisers, interior designers, architect and photographers. The team at Qyk collaborates local data and competitive quotes from the most relevant service providers to allow customer to compare and hire quality service providers saving time and money.

“The professional services space is still completely unorganised while the tech available with each consumer has shot up. I hope Qyk guys find a way to make professional services discovery and booking a breeze,” Zishaan told Inc42.

Qyk is founded by 4 IIT graduates viz Deepak Singhal, an ex-employee Practo and Urban Touch, Sangharsh Boudhh, ex-employee of Ola, Shobhit Singhal, who has worked with multiple start-ups including InMobi, and Anubhav Sahoo, who has worked with 247 inc.

Deepak Singhal, said, “We looked at a mobile-first platform owing to growing penetration of smartphones in India. What we are enabling is not just discovery, but vetting the service provider to one’s requirements and budget, and also completing the payment transaction on our platform.”
