Bangalore-based Doctor Search Engine Practo Acquires Digital Fitness Solution FitHo

Bangalore-based, doctor search engine, Practo  has acquired a digital fitness solution, FitHo Wellness. With this, the Fitho’s founders Dhruv Gupta and Prachi Gupta will take on new roles. Dhruv is planned to be the Product Head for Preventive, whereas, Prachi will take on the role of GM – Operations, New Segments.

The acquisition is intended to help Practo, be a one stop health app, rapidly expanding its offerings and moving into the preventive healthcare space.

Practo has also acquired the proprietary algorithm and recommendation engine which automatically suggests custom diets and exercise regimes to users based on their lifestyle, fitness requirements and food preferences.

Founded in 2010, by Dhruv and Prachi Gupta, FitHo is a web and app based digital wellness program that helps people manage weight & lifestyle diseases. The startup claims a two million user base across the globe using the product every year.

Currently FitHo’s offering will continue to be in phase for around 6 months after which  Practo plans to  launch a completely new preventive product that will leverage some of the technology from FitHo.

On the acquisition, Dhruv Gupta, Founder & CEO, FitHo said, “We’re really excited to join Practo and integrate our technology and expertise. Practo sees a trend of over 1 Mn users using Practo search to book around 120,000 appointments. Founded by Shashank ND and Abhinav Lal, Practo is on mission is to help improve human longevity by simplifying healthcare. It had raised $30 Mn funding recently to accelerate its rapid growth by expanding to 35 cities in India and more than 6 countries internationally.
