IT servicing and consulting company AppWorks has acquired BigDrop for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition will help AppWorks expand its offering by bringing in BigDrop’s 14-member team.
Founded in 2016, Gurugram-based Big Drop works on software complexity providing solutions on Python, Django,Node, Angular, React, Xamarin, Android, IOS and others. They are a custom software development startup that offers services to startups, SMEs, and corporates. They claim a 50% return rate in terms of customers on the platform. Their development centre is in Bhopal, and though their target market is India, a majority of their customers are abroad.
Commenting on the deal, Naved Khan, co-founder, BigDrop said, “Big Drop has always been about delivering high-quality, modern, smart technology solutions to our clients. Our merger with AppWorks helps us get closer to this goal, leveraging their vast reach, and gaining from the experience of the excellent management team, and building solutions that impact and solve real-life problems.”
Founded in 2008, AppWorks began as a niche IT servicing and consulting company. Over a period of seven years, the company has now evolved to become a holding company that deals in building mobile IT solutions mobile apps, helping startups launch in the market, upskilling freshers who want to work in corporates and more.
“We started with a typical IT services organisation but we never intended to remain one. We’ve always strived to do more and to do important stuff going beyond the resources we have. Appworks is now becoming a collection of line of business – BigDrop, OrganIQ, UpSkill, plus a host of startups.. Bringing the talent of BigDrop in-house enables us to accelerate our growth,” said Ashish Bhatia, co-founder, AppWorks.
Working with clients like Target, eBay, Bravura and Fidelity, AppWorks has a development team of over 50 engineers and a network of senior consultants providing value to its client partners.
In July 2016, Applop had raised a bridge round of funding from GHV Accelerator. Whereas in September 2016, Zybo Tracking Solutions, software solutions provider had received undisclosed amount of investment from from Grasshoppers. Other players in the custom software development space include SnapLion, Plobal App, Instappy, to name few.
