Indore-based tech-enabled ID verification and data collection agency, Anaxee Digital Runners, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Orios Venture, LetsVenture, Keiretsu Forum, GAIN and Swan Angel Network.

Founded in 2016 by Arti Agrawal and Govind Agrawal, Anaxee tech platform helps companies gain traction in Tier II, Tier III and beyond regions by providing last-mile reach and assistance in customer acquisition, onboarding, lead generation, data collection, KYC and survey.

For this, the company also builds last-mile outreach and data collection network of Digital Runners to help internet or mobile businesses to scale to the remote parts of India. So far, the company is operating in 26 states of India, 540 districts and 11K Pincodes, with a network of over 10K Digital Runners.

Anup Jain, managing partner at Orios Venture Partners said, “Anaxee vast network of Digital Runners becomes an enabler for businesses to start operations across India in very structured and foolproof manner. What Ola did with cabs, Anaxee can do the same for data and make data from remotest parts of India available on-demand.”

The company, in its press note, highlighted that the significantly higher internet penetration in the country has made corporations, internet and digital-first companies realise the business opportunities available in Tier 2, 3 and beyond in India. Indian companies have started looking beyond the top 40 cities and are focussed on expanding to other parts of the country for distribution, customer reach and more.

Anaxee Digital Runners is planning to use this funding to develop its technology, generate sales, and upscale and train its last-mile agents or  “digital runners” within the next 12 months. So far, the company claims to have served more than 1K clients across several sectors, collecting millions of data points.

The company’s clientele includes B2B marketplace Udaan, agritech startup DeHaat, Indian multinational conglomerate Welspun, broadcasting company Sony Networks, P2P lending platform Faircent, and more. Previously, Anaxee Digital Runners was also one of the 10 finalists of the YES Bank – Wharton India Startup challenge of 2017 at the 22nd Wharton India Economic Forum (WIEF).
