Ahmedabad Based Enterprise Communication Solution Startup “Awaaz De” Raises Angel Funding

Ahmedabad-based enterprise communications solutions startup, Awaaz De has just raised funds in an angel round from Mumbai-based angel investor Samir Shah.

The startup plans to utilize the funding to expand its reach and to strengthen the team. Besides, it is also in talks with several organisations for different projects.

Founded in 2010 by Neil Patel and Tapan Parikh, Awaaz De provides technology solutions and services for development sector organizations to connect with under served communities. It develops cost-effective, easy-to-use communication and data collection tools that work on mobiles and landlines, breaking language and literacy barriers.

Speaking on the development, Vipul Patel, Associate Vice President, CIIE said, “We see this angel round to be a great strategic partnership for Awaaz De. Even prior to the investments the angels have been adding significant value to Awaaz De and we look forward to the company impacting more people through this support.”

Most of the Awaaz De customers use the applications for health, education, microfinance, and agriculture to increase the impact. Prior to this, Awaaz De had raised seed funding from Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship – IIM Ahmedabad.

Till date, Awaaz De has served over 4 Mn phone calls to over 400,000 unique recipients in 13 States and 6 countries.

Awaaz De competes with Chennai-based speech recognition solutions company, Uniphore Software Systems, which has recently secured an undisclosed amount of Series A round of funding from Infosys Co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, IDG Ventures India, Indian Angel Network (IAN), Yournest Fund, and Stata Venture Partners.
