Wipro had bought – Nokia’s enterprise mobile TV unit in 2009 for an undisclosed amount. It had 40 employees and had created software and hardware which enabled the mobile TV technology on the phone to find and access the broadcasting network.

As per reports, Wipro has shut down the mobile TV business due to – “amid lack of this technology adoption in Europe and a clash for content with telecom operators who have their own streaming services.”

Though there has been no communication from the company for the same, but as per one of its previous employee, Wipro has gradually phased off all the employees who have joined Wipro during Nokia’s mobile TV acquisition.
