Mumbai-based startup Crowdfire,  a social media management app for Twitter and Instagram previously known as Justunfollow, has raised $2.5 Mn from Kalaari Capital in its Series A funding round.

The brainchild of Nischal, Sameer Mhatre, Siddharth Menon, and Anirudh Khusape, JustUnfollow was founded Feb 2010 and was rebranded to Crowdfire last month.

Crowdfire became popular for helping people spot unfollowers and spammers on Twitter, but now offers a wider range of features such as an Instagram scheduler and photo suggester.

Crowdfire helps users manage their social media accounts more effectively by:

  • Finding inactive users and your unfollowers – unfollow them if you wish to
  • Finding relevant users to follow using our insightful “Copy Followers” feature
  • Keeping track of how your social media updates affect your follower/unfollower stats
  • Checking the relationship between any two Twitter/Instagram accounts and doing a whole lot more.

Crowdfire is used by over 10 million users (businesses – big and small, entrepreneurs, indie artists, individuals) of which over 350,000 users are active daily, and 3 Million active monthly.

“We are on our way to being the biggest social media marketing product in the world and are taking on other big global products in this space like HootSuite. This first round of financing will help us move faster towards our goal.. We believe it’s time for products built in India to become leaders globally and in the social media space we want to be that product,” says Urooj Kazi of the team member of Codigami.
