Adopt AI Bags $6 Mn To Help Users Automate Workflows With Text Commands

Agentic AI startup Adopt AI has raised $6 Mn (around INR 51.15 Cr) in a seed funding round and has come out of its stealth mode.

Led by Elevation Capital, the round also saw participation from Foster Ventures, Powerhouse Ventures and Darkmode Ventures, along with a host of angel investors.

Adopt AI seeks to deploy the fresh proceeds for product development, expanding its engineering team and onboarding early customers.

“A significant portion of our funding is currently being invested in technology development, particularly in AI, R&D, and core engineering, to bring our product to life,” Adopt AI’s cofounder and CEO Deepak Anchala told Inc42.

“While we will eventually increase our investments in marketing, sales and brand awareness, our primary focus so far has been on solving complex engineering problems,” Anchala added.

Founded by Anchala, Rahul Bhattacharya, and Anirudh Badam, Adopt AI is building an agentic AI platform that enables users to automate workflows and perform complex actions with text commands. 

The San Francisco and Bengaluru-based startup has two products, Agentic Experience and Agentic Builder. Agentic Experience replaces traditional user interfaces with conversational ones, allowing users to perform tasks using natural language instead of navigating complex UIs. 

Agentic Builder is a no-code tool that lets teams quickly create and deploy these AI-driven experiences without any engineering effort. It includes ready-to-use actions and full configuration capabilities, enabling businesses to launch agentic features within days.

Its offering is currently limited to text commands, but Adopt AI intends to offer voice command solutions in future. 

Both the cofounders, Anchala and Bhattacharya, previously cofounded Slintel, a sales intelligence platform that cumulatively raised around $25 Mn from GGV Capital, Accel and Peak XV Partners (erstwhile Sequoia Capital India), among others. Slintel was acquired by 6sense in 2021.

The third cofounder, Badam, who now serves as Adopt AI’s chief AI officer, was previously the director of engineering and a principal researcher at Microsoft, where he led several AI research and development initiatives for more than 10 years.

Adopt AI currently is a 15-member team, with a majority focused on engineering and AI development. 

The development comes at a time when startups from Gupshup to Zomato to Zoho Corporation are also building in-house AI agents to help enhance the processing of ticket requests and so on. 

Among other early-stage startups, Hyderabad-based startup Pulse raised $1.4 Mn in seed funding last November to build its agentic AI platform aimed at SaaS product teams, while Atomicwork raised $25 Mn in January to transform IT service management with its agentic AI platform.

With the overall boom in AI and automation, the more niche segment, agentic AI, has also carved a market size worth $5.1 Bn in 2024. Meanwhile, India’s GenAI market, which includes more than 100 generative AI startups, is projected to surpass the $17 Bn mark by 2030.
