Taiwanese tech giant Acer is looking to expand its consumer electronics offerings in India by launching over 90 stores early next year.

The company recently launched Acerpure, its line of consumer electronics and appliances in India. This includes TVs, water and air purifiers, air circulator fans, and accessories.

Acer unveiled its 210th store today.

Meanwhile, Acer is focusing on its product as well as go-to-market (GTM) strategies to expand its market share in India. The product strategy aims to cater to diverse consumer needs – from first-time buyers seeking affordable options to serious users requiring high-performance PCs for AI, data crunching, and gaming,

The GTM strategy aims to expand reach by increasing Acer’s presence on online platforms and large retail chains, while also doubling exclusive brand outlets from 170 to 300 within the year.

“Nearly 40% of our business is consumer centric, and the rest 60%  is commercial business for us. Out of this 40%, about five years ago in 2019, we had close to 45%  of the business coming from our online stores,” said Harish Kohli, president and managing director at Acer India to business line in an exclusive statement.

Compared to 2019 now the company’s businesses happen offline which changes the ratio to 26% online while 74% offline the company said in a statement.

This comes at a time  amid the center’s push for IT hardware manufacturing in the country, Taiwanese tech giant Acer is looking to further ramp up its manufacturing in India.

The company also announced a ‘Make in India’ partnership, under which Dixon will manufacture the Acerpure products in the country. Acerpure is aiming to achieve a revenue of $100 Mn within the next one and a half years.

Recently Bengaluru-based consumer electronics startup Indkal Technologies has entered into a trademark licensing agreement with Acer Inc to design, manufacture and distribute smartphones for the Taiwan-based hardware company.

Acer Group stood third in the Indian PC market with a share of 15.4% in Q1 of 2024.Sales for the company is growing by 19.9% year-on-year (YoY) and 32% YoY respectively. Its consumer segment also grew 51.7% YoY.
