Social and professional networking platforms are increasingly emerging as a source for hiring the right talent. Professional networking site, LinkedIn, has recently released a list of the 25 Hottest Skills That Got People Hired in 2014. With more than 330 Mn active people using the service of LinkedIn, It has analyzed their skills and experience to prepare this list.

Employees with STEM skills — science, technology, engineering and math — are among the hottest product right now in the job market. Also, there is a huge demand for workers with marketing skills in digital, online and search-engine optimization, the research showed.

Today, companies are nothing without data and more concerned about data safety. The companies are eagerly adding talent for data storage, retrieval and analysis to their teams. Cloud and distributed computing skills were prized particularly in the U.S., India and France.

According to the data released by LinkedIn, the top ten skills that got people jobs this year globally are – Statistics Analysis and Data Mining, Middleware and Integration Software, Storage Systems and Management, Network and Information Security, SEO/SEM Marketing, among others.

Now let’s take a look at the India’s hiring trend in year 2014, the top skills that were required by companies are- Public Relation & Communication, Social Media Marketing, Web Architecture, Cloud & Distributed Computing, Mobile Development, Data Presentation, Mac-Linux & Unix Systems, User Interface Design, Economics, Statistics Analysis and Data Mining, among others.
